• Lion: The king of the jungle, according to us lesser mortals, is ruled by the Zodiac sign of Leo. Magnificent, regal, and powerful, the Lion walks the wilderness with tender paws yet can become dangerously violent and attack its prey within a matter of seconds. This animal is one of the most respected and simultaneously feared creatures of the wild and demands attention wherever he is seen.

Leo sign: lion It is his very nature that symbolically makes the Lion an ideal totem to be called on for strength, protection, warrior energy, and regal confidence. Obviously, this does not mean that you have to go out and get yourself a Lion (unless you work in a circus – kidding!), but you can buy (or make) yourself a ‘small’ token or reminder of his presence. A keychain, photograph, painting, or carving will do just fine. What matters the most is the connection to the vision.

Leo sign: elk • Elk: Once you read my description of an elk, I’ll bet that you’ll figure out what this Leo-ruled totem is useful for…bet? Ok…Ten feet tall and five feet long, emits a loud bugling call to signal the start of the mating season, and has the strength and STAMINA to maintain a fast trot for extended period of time. Did you guess? If you’re thinking sex, you’re on the right track. The elk’s antlers actually signify the libido and yang force. The elk’s symbolism makes him an ideal totem to use when working through problems such as infertility and impotence and when one desires to increase his endurance and stamina. So, if you know someone who needs a bit of assistance with this area of life, the elk is just the ‘man’ for the job.

• Robin: The Robin is a cheerful, red-breasted little bird that appears as one of the first signs of spring. This ‘sunshine’ of a little bird, that’s also ruled by the Leo sign of the zodiac, can be found in parks, backyards, farmlands and open forests…anywhere where a bit of joy is welcomed. As a totem, the Robin’s confident manner can inspire one to express and assert himself more freely and openly. It can also help with shedding unwanted masks and help one present himself fully to the world…the true and free spirit that is really him! I think we all could use a bit of that magic…don’t you think?
